Sale of Champions - On Oct. 30 Children ages 9 to 19 auction off their prize-winning animals and learn about the business of agriculture and livestock.
Great American Petting Zoo – Visit the American Adventures Petting Zoo in the Cattle Barns for the entire run of the fair. The petting zoo features favorites such as ducks, llamas, donkeys, deer, chickens, pigs and the Australian wallaby.
Valentine’s Performing Pigs See Nellie, “The World’s Smartest Pig”, and her friends perform amazing and athletic feats. The swiners will dance, jump in the air, play catch with the audience, run up teeter totters, slam dunk basketballs, pop balloons, roll barrels and madly roar across the stage on scooters and skateboards! After all performances, guests will have the ability to meet the performing pigs. Daily.
Barney Bonzirelli and Pinky PawCadero race to educate! October 14 - 16, Bonzi and pinky raise awareness of animal abuse and puppy mills in the young generation, in hopes it will impact the future generation of pet lovers! Come race with Bonzi and Pinky and if you’re the winner, you’ll take home a Wonder Paws Raceway trophy! Bonzi and Pinky are fun, educational and interactive!
The Great American Pony Rides – Children will be able to choose any of the five adorable ponies brought by Animal Adventures and have a fun, safe riding experience. Pony rides will be open the entire run of fair until 9 p.m. nightly.
2nd Annual State Fair Police K9 Competition - The Phoenix Police Department, in conjunction with the National Police Canine Association will be hosting the Arizona State Police K-9 Competition on Sunday, October 30, 2011, from 11am – 4pm in the Grandstand arena. This event will test canine team's abilities in the areas of canine obedience, search techniques, obstacle maneuvering and tactical responses.

Wild West Turkey Stampede - Oct. 19 - Nov. 6. The turkey is not just for dinner any more! As seen on Discovery Channel's Hit TV Show, Dirty Jobs, with host Mike Rowe, Gil and Nancy Riegler present the award winning Wild West Turkey Stampede... a race like none other! Galloping gobblers sprint after Big Red, the RC truck, in a no-holds-barred high-speed spectacle!
